On February 4, 2011 MATGAS hosted its first Alumni Meeting. During the 2010 academic year MATGAS hosted over 25 students from several universities who realized their stays in our center through different programs (Master thesis, final thesis, summer internships, etc).
The main goal of the event was to gather the students, their project advisors and the university professors involved in the student programs in a relaxed athmophere and to exchange views and thoughts about their experience at MATGAS.

Lourdes Vega, MATGAS director, opened the meeting explaining to the participants the role of MATGAS in hosting students and thus contribute to their education.

Oriol Ossó, the undergraduate students coordinator at MATGAS, showed a detailed list of students, universities of origin, and the different projects in which the students worked.

After that, Sandra Pardilla, a practicum student, Edoardo Valente, an Erasmus student, and Aleix Torner, internship student, presented their experiences at MATGAS during their relative stays.

A round table panel lead by Javier Rodríguez, MATGAS vice-director, and with the participation of Glòria González, director of the School of Enginneering of the UAB, Roberta Pacciani, technical lead at MATGAS and student supervisor, and Silvia Donicci, summer internship student, opened a discussion with the audience on different issues related to the education of students in a center like MATGAS.
