qs_freshline_tunnelThe gas company Carburos Metálicos, Air Products Group, together with MATGAS, center of excellence in CO2 and sustainability research,  have signed a research project on Cryogenic Freezing with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), which aims to enhance and expand the comprehensive advantages of food freezing with liquid nitrogen, and other research programs.

The QS Freshline freezing tunnel is a new design of cryogenic food freezer that can be used to cool or freeze cryogenically a wide variety of foods, such as meat, poultry, seafood, fruits and vegetables, pasta, dairy products baked goods and prepared foods. With a simple design, the new tunnel freezer is ideal for processing small volumes of food, or for companies who want to perform the freezing of products with high quality but with a minimum initial cost. The first activity developed in this research is to install the freezing tunnel Freshline QS in the Department of Food Technology of the UPV. The QS Freshline tunnel is part of the portfolio of the Freshline range from Air Products, parent company of Carburos Metálicos. Advances in research will provide a cryogenic freezing enhancement to the overall quality of frozen food products.
