In the framework of the European Science Week, a group of 50 young students from the Col·legi Claret de Sabadell, near Barcelona, visited MATGAS.

They received an initial presentation about what Science is, what scientists do and what kind of research is carried out at MATGAS, adapted at their level, trying to help them to understand the importance of Science and Technology for them and the Society in general. Prior to the presentation, some spectacular experiments were done in order to capture the attention of the scholars and to make a more educational and enjoyable session.

After that, the students and their teachers had the opportunity to visit real high tech laboratories (nanotechnology, gas reactivity and supercritical fluids labs) where they saw and experienced how real science and technology is carried out.

Several people from MatGas was involved in the visit; a piece of our contribution to transfer Science and Technology to Society from our side. We hope they had enjoyed the visit and that this experience could open positive insights of Science and Technology in their minds, as some of them may also be future scientists.
