The exhibition '16 Científiques Catalanes' (16 Catalan Science Women) is based on the profile of 16 researchers in universities, research centers and companies in Catalonia. Among them you can find Dr. Lourdes F. Vega, the director of MATGAS.
It is organized by the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication (ACCC) through a grant from the Department of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise (DIUE) of the Catalan regional government.

The Carbon Disclosure Project, which holds the largest database of corporate climate change information in the world, has recognized Air Products' approach to climate change disclosure and named the company to its Leadership Index for 2009.
Of the S&P500, only the top 50 companies' responses to the CDP's questionnaire are included in its Leadership Index, which highlights the "constituent companies displaying the most professional approach to corporate governance in climate change disclosure practices." Companies were scored based on their responses to the CDP's questions that ranged from greenhouse gas emissions and reduction targets, to risks and opportunities associated with climate change.

The Spanish Secretary of State for Research has signed an agreement with the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) for the management of the Project Microalgas for the «production and development of algae cultures for the capture of CO2 and the production of biofuels», in the frame of the Spanish Economy and Employment Stimulation Plan (Plan E).
