Award
Catalan research award for public private partnership
MATGAS collected the 2014 Catalan National Research Award in the public private partnership category. The award recognised cooperation between the public and private sectors in research and innovation.
The award is given by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation with support from the Government of Catalonia. Its purpose is to recognise research activity carried out through cooperation between public and private organisations in Catalonia.
Lourdes Vega, who led the centre at the time, received the award at a ceremony presided by Artur Mas, then president of the Government of Catalonia, accompanied by the minister Mas Colell. The event brought together representatives of the research and business communities.
For MATGAS, the recognition reflects the structure of the centre itself. It is an economic interest group formed by an industrial gases company, a national research council and a public university, and much of its work is carried out with partners from both sectors.
