Laboratory
Gas Reactivity
Measuring how gases interact with liquids and solids, across a broad pressure and temperature range.
What this laboratory does
The Gas Reactivity laboratory studies the reactivity and adsorption of gases in liquid and solid materials. It combines volumetric and gravimetric techniques with electrochemical measurement and thin film preparation. The laboratory is used to test sorbents, catalysts and materials for gas separation, and to examine how a material behaves under repeated cycles.
Capabilities
Methods and equipment
- Gas sorption analysers and microbalances
- Temperature controlled sorption reactors
- Electrochemical workstations
- Ultra high vacuum sputtering system
- Pycnometry and surface area analysis
- Thermogravimetric analysis and gas chromatography
