Physics society and foundation honour Lourdes Vega

The Royal Spanish Society of Physics is a learned society that supports physics research and its communication in Spain. The BBVA Foundation supports research, culture and scientific debate. Their joint recognition focused on the transfer of scientific knowledge into industrial practice.

Lourdes Vega led MATGAS and has worked on the modelling of fluids, CO2 capture and the application of molecular methods to industrial problems. The award is recorded here as part of the centre's history.

The relationship between a research result and an industrial process is rarely automatic. It requires translation, testing and a partner willing to adopt a new method. The centre's structure as an economic interest group is designed to make that translation easier.
