Interfacial properties of fluids near the critical region
A molecular based equation of state used to calculate interfacial behaviour close to the critical point.
Near a critical point, the interface between two fluid phases becomes diffuse and the usual approximations become unreliable. Calculating surface tension and density profiles in this region is a demanding test of a model.
The study uses a molecular based equation of state to calculate interfacial properties close to the critical region. The approach connects the bulk behaviour of the fluid to the structure of the interface, which matters for processes involving dense CO2 and other fluids.
